Perfect is just a feeling
Perfect is just a feeling you get when reality matches what was in your head
When something feels perfect, doesn't mean that it is perfect. It just means it matches up to the vision in your head
When people procrastinate with the excuse of perfecting something, what they are really after is the feeling that they lived up to the idea in their head of what it should look like
Why do we chase perfection?
Validation
If you are trying to perfect something for someone else, what you are really after is validation from the person that you did a good job
If you are trying to perfect something for yourself, what you are really after is validation from yourself that your work meets your own standards
Chasing perfection is good in the sense that it forces you to improve beyond your expectations. But the same chase for perfection can be deadly when it stops you from getting things done
Perfect is the enemy of done.
Done is better than perfect
Perfect is just a feeling. Like for all feelings, know when to give in to it and when to ignore it and get work done regardless
